At approximately 3:42 am on 4/7/13, Waukegan Fire Department received a fire alarm at 1912 10th street in an apartment building. Units dispatched on the fire alarm were Battalion Chief 1, Engine 1, Rescue 1, Engine 3, Truck 4. Units on-scene were then reporting a working fire and stretched a line. Then engine 2 was R.I.T & North Chicago Engine was mutual aid on the working fire response. Staging was at 10th St & Lewis Ave, then a 2nd alarm on Box #16-1 was requested by Battalion 1. Units that were on the 2nd alarm were: Engines: Waukegan, North Chicago, Beach Park. Trucks: Gurnee & Grayslake Squads Deerfield EMS: Waukegan & Winthrop Harbor Chiefs: Waukegan, Beach Park, & North Chicago special: Mess canteen, Abbott engine foam, & air 5 COQ: Great Lakes Truck to station 1, Libertyville engine to station 2, Lake Villa ems to station 3, Zion engine to station 4, Newport ems to station 5. The 2nd alarm was struck out at around 4:40 am, and companies started to return. Fire was put out and companies started overhaul.
