North Chicago Fire Department responded at about 7:23 PM to a report of a structure fire in the 1600 Block Elizabeth Ave in North Chicago. Upon arrival of the first unit, they reported they had a working fire. Heavy smoke and fire was showing upon arrival. Knollwood Truck 44 was auto-aid on initial response. Command then requested a full still, then right after a MABAS Box alarm to the Box level on Box #15-1. Staging is at 17th St & Elizabeth Ave. Units due: Great Lakes Engine, Beach Park Engine, Lake Forest Truck, Lake Bluff Squad, Zion & Newport EMS, Lake Forest Chief, Waukegan Chief, Mess Canteen – COQ: Libertyville Chief, Winthrop Harbor Engine and Gurnee EMS. Currently at 8:25 most units are still working on-scene, although some units have been released. If more information becomes available we will post it.
