Working fire reported at Rics Dog Gone Good Food in Lake Zurich

Lake Zurich Fire Department and Lake Zurich Police Department responded at around 9:30 PM for a smoke investigation inside Rics Dog Gone Good Food at 670 East Rt 22 in Lake Zurich. Chief 200, Ambulance 2, Engine 1, Engine 3, Engine 4, and Battalion 206 were due. Upon arrival of Battalion 206, he reported a 1 story strip mall, 200×50, with a light haze inside the building. They requested the key holder to the scene as the business was not opened.

Operations were switched to Fireground Red. First engine inside the building confirmed a smoke haze. Battalion 206 then shortly later reported a fire on the grill, they were forcing entry into the building. Lake Zurich Police had shutdown the area for fire apparatus. Engine 3 then began to stretch a line. They were also reporting a lot of smoke coming from the roof. Ladders were place to further investigate the source of smoke on the roof.

Lake Zurich Battalion 206 reported they then had water on the fire. The board-up company was later requested to the scene.

Command later reported the fire was out.
