Woodstock Police were dispatched to Walmart, 1275 Lake Ave., for a woman who had stolen multiple pieces of clothing this afternoon at around 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM. While responding an officer noticed a vehicle matching the offenders description and attempted to perform a traffic stop.
The vehicle refused to stop and continued northbound on Rt. 47. When the driver picked up speed and decided to travel through a red traffic light, the officer terminated the pursuit for the safety of the other motorists. Even after the officer terminated the pursuit he was still able to keep a visual on the vehicle, at which point turned into the Autumnwood Apartments off of McHenry Ave.
The woman was found inside the apartment complex which she presumably lived and was taken into custody.
