Lake Forest Fire Department was dispatched at 7:53 PM Thursday night to a report of a train vs. pedestrian at the Everett Railroad Crossing. The accident occurred near Waukegan Rd and Everett Rd possibly near the depot on the east side of the tracks. Ambulance 422, Engine 421, and Battalion 42 responded.
Upon arrival by the fire department, the Lake Forest Police Department was already on scene and looking for it. Battalion 42 reported he was on scene and in command, switching over to Fireground Red. They were then looking for the body. A short time later, Battalion 42 reporting they found remnants of the body. About 4 minutes later, command reported a confirmed DOA.
Units were then available and returning. The accident is currently being investigated. This is involving a freight train.

Trains traveling to Chicago and Fox Lake will be halted in the vicinity of Lake Forest due to a pedestrian incident involving a freight train. Estimated time of delays are unknown. Metra willl provide updated information as it becomes available.
