The Waukegan Fire Department were dispatched to Beach Rd & Pine Ave in Waukegan on Thursday night at around 8:15 PM for a report of a car vs. bicyclist. Engine 5 and Rescue 5 were initially due. As the fire department was en-route, dispatch advised that the bicyclist was now unconscious.
Upon arrival of Engine 5 and Rescue 5, they requested Flight For Life to the scene for the bicyclist with serious injuries. Battalion 1 was then on scene as well. Battalion 1 then requested Flight For Life and Truck 4 to the scene. The landing zone is at the Waukegan Regional Airport. Lake County Sheriff reported that Beach Road is completely shut down.
