Barrington-Countryside Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the 21200 Block of North 21st Street in Unincorporated Barrington. The call came in around 1:17 A.M. Saturday morning.
Dispatch advised further that the caller reported they saw flames coming from the rear of the residence. Upon arrival of Battalion 38, he reported a two story residence fully involved in flames. Immediately a MABAS Box Alarm on Box #38-11 was requested to the 1st level.
Staging of the fire companies was put at Route 14 and Taylor Street. Battalion 38 reported water was on the fire and that part of the house collapsed.
Some of the initial fire companies that were due on the first response were the following: E381, E382, LZ Engine, Barrington Quint, C3802, Tanker 55, Battalion 55, Fox River Grove Engine, Fox River Grove Chief, Cary Squad, LZ Chief, & Tender 382.
Most of the MABAS Box Alarm companies that were due were the following: Engines: Carpentersville, Algonquin – Tenders: Palatine Rural, Fox Lake, Nunda Rural, East Dundee – Trucks: Palatine RIT, Barrington – Chiefs: Barrington, Cary, Wauconda (Unavailable), Long Grove – Mess – COQ: Station 1: Wheeling EMS and Deerfield Engine – Station 2: Rolling Meadows Ambulance and Streamwood Engine.
Special requested by command was Countryside Truck and Algonquin Chief.
