The Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Department responded for a report of an accident with injuries at Inverarry Lane and Milwaukee Ave in Riverwoods at about 2:40 PM today.

Further information that was given by dispatch, they advised it was a Corvette vs. a Riverwoods Police Car. The road was shutdown in both directions and more police squads were requested to the scene. It is unknown if either occupants of the vehicles were transported to the hospital, although the initial report was that there were injuries.

According to the driver of the vehicle (Corvette), he stated that a beach ball had rolled across the roadway and got stuck under his car causing him to slide into the other lane and get hit by the police car. It was a t-bone style accident. Several witnesses also stated they saw the same thing happen as well. The beach ball was reported to be recovered at the scene.
