The McHenry Township Fire Protection District was dispatched at 4:32 P.M. today to a report of a man who had accidentally shot himself. The incident occurred at the Alpha Gun Range in McHenry at 5002 West Elm St.

Once the fire department had arrived at the scene, they determined that Flight For Life was needed. They had requested them to the scene and had setup a landing zone. The victim was transported to Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville.

According to the Northwest Herald, the victim is a 56 year old male and the gunshot wound was to the upper right leg. The victim was listed in stable condition and was in surgery. No other injuries had occurred.
