Antioch woman charged with shooting man during domestic dispute

(CHICAGO SUN-TIMES) — A 54-year-old north suburban woman has been charged with beating a man with a pipe and shooting him in the hand during a domestic dispute early Saturday in Antioch.

Vickie V. Orsini-Harvey, 54, was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated domestic battery causing great bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, all felonies, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff’s office.

During an argument in the 25400 block of West Hilldale Avenue about 12:30 a.m., Orsini-Harvey struck the 59-year-old man with a metal pipe, then left the room to get a handgun, according to the statement.

She fired one shot, which initially only caused property damage. She then fired a second shot, which struck the man in the hand, according to the statement.

The victim called 911 and was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was treated and released, according to the statement.

Orsini-Harvey, who lives on the same block where the shooting happened, was ordered held on a $500,000 bond at the Lake County Jail, according to the statement. She is next scheduled to appear in court May 10.

Note: This incident is not related to the police involved shooting in Antioch that occurred at around the same time. This is a separate incident.
