The Lake Villa Fire Department was dispatched at 5:30 PM today to a brush fire near Fairfield Road & Cedar Lake Lane in Lake Villa near the Cedar Lake Bog.
Firefighters on scene confirmed a working brush fire in the marsh area to the east of Fairfield Rd & Cedar Lake Lane near 38263 North Fairfield Road. Firefighters worked for around three hours to extinguish the fire. The fire was under control by 8:30 PM.
An ATV and water tenders were called to the scene to help contain the fire.
Change of quarters companies from other departments were called to cover fire and EMS calls for Lake Villa while they worked at the fire.
The fire is under investigation.
