Fire officials are investigating a structure fire in Cary that left the two-story home charred, heavily damaged and uninhabitable, officials said Wednesday.

The first crew arrived to find flames coming from the garage, from the front windows above the garage, as well as from the back windows, Douglass said, adding that firefighters first fought the fire from outside, and then moved inside and established there were no people in the house.
