Fire causes $100,000 in damage to McHenry home, official says

(NORTHWEST HERALD) — The McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded early Thursday morning to a fire that left a house uninhabitable.

Crews were dispatched about 4:40 a.m. to a home in the 2500 block of South Harriet Lane in unincorporated McHenry County, McHenry Township Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Dave Harwood said. He said the home was in between Holiday Hills and Island Lake.

The house was on fire when crews arrived, and it took about a half hour to extinguish it, Harwood said.
