The Riverwoods Police Department responded to a suicidal female who was barricaded inside a home on Thursday.
The incident occurred in the 1500 block of Saunders Road in Riverwoods. NIPAS EST (Northern Illinois Police Alarm System / Emergency Services Team) responded to the residence along with police from other neighboring agencies and Riverwoods Police Department.
The female, in her 20’s, was threatening to harm herself with a knife inside the residence and was barricaded refusing to come out.
The incident was resolved three hours later when the subject exited the residence at the request of the negotiators.
There were no injuries. The subject was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
