30-year-old McHenry man Anthony Harrison was charged with killing Laura K. Harrison, also 30-years-old, on Monday in McHenry.

McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski said Laura Harrison died from sharp and blunt force injuries to her neck. McHenry Police say he stabbed her in the neck with a knife.

McHenry Police and Fire Department responded to the house at 4316 West Parkway Ave in McHenry Monday morning around 8:50 AM.

The suspect, Anthony Harrison, called 911 and said he killed his wife and then slit his throat in an attempted suicide. Officers found his wife dead inside the residence and found him with severe self-inflicted wound to his neck area. Flight For Life was called and airlifted the suspect to Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville.

Following an investigation by the McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team and autopsy by the coroner, Anthony Harrison was charged Tuesday with two counts of first degree murder.

Anthony Harrison’s bond was set at $3 million and he is due to appear in court next on July 6th. He will be transported to McHenry County Jail after he is released from the hospital.

According to court records from December, Anthony Harrison was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery in a previous incident.

  1. Tragically, there was no order of protection filed against this man who was out on bond for allegedly beating up his wife 6 months ago. The protection order might not have prevented this but the system seems to have failed yet another victim of domestic abuse.

  2. I knew her and the family years ago. I can honestly say I’ve never met a nicer person than Laura. This is an awful tragedy and people need to be aware of the threat of domestic violence.
