Highland Park gas station robbed at gunpoint

(CHICAGO SUN-TIMES) — A gas station was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday in north suburban Highland Park.

The robbery happened about 1 a.m. at Thornton’s Gas Station at 55 Skokie Valley Rd., according to Highland Park police.

Three people entered the store with a silver handgun and demanded money from the attendant, police said. No injuries were reported.

The three suspects were described as black males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, police said. Two of the three were wearing dark pants, and the third was wearing light pants. They took off in a dark car, possibly a Chevrolet Malibu.
