(WOODSTOCK INDEPENDENT) — A car fire on the Woodstock Square this morning destroyed one vehicle.
Just before 9 a.m., personnel from Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the fire at the 100 block of Benton Street.
According to WFRD Captain Brendan Parker, the driver of the car, a woman, noticed smoke coming out of the vents on her car’s dashboard and pulled over the vehicle. By the time crews arrived on scene, the car was engulfed in flames.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but the car was deemed a total loss. There were no injuries and there were no other cars nearby. The area of Benton Street was closed for approximately 45 minutes, Parker said.
