A Lake County Sheriff Deputy responding to an emergency call was injured after crashing into a semi and SUV Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred at Wadsworth Road and Green Bay Road in Beach Park at 5:00 p.m..

As the deputy was driving lights and sirens to an emergency call in the southbound lanes he crashed into a semi-tractor trailer truck going eastbound and then was pushed into an SUV.

The deputy was injured and transported to Advocate Condell Hospital in Libertyville according to a sheriff’s spokesperson. He was treated and has since been released.

The deputy’s name is not being released.

All of the other people involved in the crash were not injured.

The intersection was shutdown for several hours due to gasoline from the semi truck leaking all over the road.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
