Convenience store robbed at gunpoint in Ingleside

( — The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is seeking a suspect in the Wednesday night armed robbery of the A&N Convenience/Liquor Store at 34780 Catherine Street in Ingleside, who fled in a white Volkswagen with a burned out headlight.

Deputies rushed to the store March 29 at approximately 8:45 p.m. after receiving a call about the robbery.

The clerk who was not harmed, told deputies that a man described as Hispanic, between the ages of 30 and 40, entered the store armed with a semiautomatic pistol. He took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, before fleeing.

The suspect then entered the passenger side of a waiting vehicle described as a white Volkswagen Passat, possibly a 2006 or 2007.

The Passat has either black rims or no hubcaps, and the passenger side headlight is burned out. The vehicle headed northbound on Wilson Road.

The suspect is described as approximately five feet eight inches tall and weighing 150 pounds
