Two bicyclists were airlifted to area hospitals after being struck by a car in Crystal Lake Friday night.
First responders were called to the scene around 6:00 p.m. to the intersection of Lake Avenue and Riverside Drive in Crystal Lake after they received a report that a car hit two people riding on bicycles.
It was reported as two teenagers who were on the two bicycles.
One of the teens was in serious condition. The condition of the other teen is unknown.
The incident happened just one block west of the Lakeside Festival in Crystal Lake.
McHenry County Sheriff, Crystal Lake Police Department, and Lakewood Police Department were on the scene. The McHenry County Sheriff is leading the investigation.
Officials have not yet responded to Lake and McHenry County Scanner for additional details. The cause of the crash is still under investigation and no additional details have been released.
