The coroner has identified the two people who were killed Sunday evening when the motorcycle they were on crashed into a light pole in Algonquin.

According to McHenry County Coroner Dr. Anne Majewski, the driver of the motorcycle was David A. Erickson, 59, of Crystal Lake, and the passenger on the motorcycle was Tiffany G. Eisner, 43, of Lake in the Hills.

Police said the crash happened at around 5:07 p.m. on the Route 31 western bypass north of Route 62. A BMW motorcycle was heading north on Route 31 when it hit a raised median and went into the southbound lanes where it then struck a light pole on the west side of the street.
