Highland Park Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a Verizon Wireless store on Friday.

Police were called at around 10:40 a.m. to the Verizon Wireless store located at 2090 Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park.

An employee at the store reported that the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun, and ordered the employee to the floor. The suspect then stole several electronic devices and exited the store where he entered a vehicle that was driven by a second suspect and fled the area.

No one was injured during the robbery and no customers were present, officials said.

After securing the scene and obtaining information from the witness a local look out was broadcasted to local police officers.

Highland Park Police said that suspect #1 is described as a male black, 5’10” with a thin build, wearing a bandana as a head band and a scarf to cover his face. No description of suspect #2 who was the driver was obtained during the initial investigation. The suspects’ vehicle was reported to be a silver unknown make/model, police said.

Other suburban Chicagoland agencies that have experienced similar incidents are assisting Highland Park Police Detectives in the investigation. The police department will also be alerting local businesses.
