A man has been arrested after shots were fired following a fight in a parking lot outside of a concert in Waukegan on Saturday.

The Waukegan Police Department responded at around 1:40 a.m. to the Lakehurst Events facility in the 300 block of Lakehurst Road for a report of shots fired in the parking lot, according to Waukegan Police Department Commander Joe Florip.

Detectives learned the facility was hosting a concert and the event was ending when an altercation occurred between multiple people and it escalated into the shots being fired.

It was believed that no one was injured, Commander Florip said.

Police arrested Mark Fields, 26-years-old, of Waukegan, and he was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Fields was taken to bond court over the weekend and given a bond of $75,000. He posted bail and will appear in court again on July 25.

The investigation is ongoing by the Waukegan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
