Firefighters are at the scene of a blaze in a building that houses both a business and apartments in Round Lake.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene at 247 North Cedar Lake Road in Round Lake shortly before 5:00 p.m.
The building on fire houses a tax service called Campos’ Tax on the first floor and apartments on the upper floors which is next door to a gas station.
A Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) third alarm box was requested which brought in fire departments from around Lake County and McHenry County.
It’s unknown if there are any injuries at this time. The cause of the fire is unknown.
As of 6:45 p.m. the fire was under control but crews are still working at the scene.
The Lake County Division of Transportation said at 6:30 p.m. that Cedar Lake and Nippersink Roads were closed due to ongoing fire operations.
