On Tuesday the Lake County Sheriffโs Office Warrants Team and the U.S. Marshals apprehended a man in connection with a fatal crash in North Chicago in April.
Sheriff’s officials said that Sherrod E. Abraham, 28, of the 2600 block of Cornelia Ave in Waukegan, a documented street gang member, was wanted on a felony arrest warrant for one count of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence (Class 2 Felony), and three counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence (Class 4 Felonies).
Authorities said that the warrant resulted from a North Chicago Police Department investigation of a vehicle crash which occurred on April 21 where a person was killed.
The crash occurred at around 2:00 a.m. on April 21 near Route 41 and Northpoint Boulevard in North Chicago. Two vehicles rolled over and several people were injured. The victim who died in the crash was 39-year-old Eric M. Britton of Chicago.
Abraham was arrested without incident at his residence in the 2600 block of Cornelia Ave in Waukegan by members of the Lake County Sheriffโs Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Abraham was transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on a $1 million bond. He is next due in court on August 9 at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom C-120.
