The coroner has ruled that the woman who was killed after being struck by a freight train last Thursday in Barrington was a suicide.
Metra officials and police said that a 49-year-old woman was struck by a Canadian National train at 2:38 a.m. on August 10 near the Barrington Metra Station at 201 South Spring Street.
Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper has ruled the death as a suicide. He’s identified the woman asย Svetlana Petrovska, 49, of Elk Grove Village.
The incident caused major delays along the Metra northwest line.
