Waukegan police are investigating three separate shootings that occurred within two days of each other.
On Sunday at around 1:00 a.m., the Waukegan Police Department responded to an area hospital to speak to a person that had been shot.
Authorities said that the victim told officers that she was shot in the area of 9th Street and Lenox Avenue in Waukegan while she was outside. The victim, a female in her 20’s and a Round Lake area resident, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Just one hour after the first shooting, a second shooting happened at around 2:00 a.m.. The Waukegan Police Department responded to the 300 block of George Avenue for a report of a shooting victim. When officers arrived, they located a man that had been shot. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The man said he was outside of the address when the shooting happened. Waukegan police said the victim is a male in his 20’s and also lives in the Round Lake area.
Detectives are looking into the possibility of a sedan or SUV style vehicle being involved in this shooting. The vehicle was last seen fleeing eastbound on George Avenue, police said.
The next day on Monday at around 6:30 p.m., the Waukegan Police Department responded to the 900 block of Hickory Street for a report of a shooting victim. When officers arrived they located a male in his late teens that had been shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries. The teen, who is a Waukegan resident, was transported to an area hospital.
Authorities said that the victim told them that he was outside of the address when the shooting happened.
