A 57-year-old man has died after crashing his motorcycle into a tree and being ejected in Antioch Sunday evening.
At around 7:55 p.m. on Sunday, police said that the man was traveling on his motorcycle southbound on Nelson Road and did not stop at the intersection at North Avenue. The motorcycle crossed North Avenue and struck a tree off the roadway, ejecting the driver.
Authorities said that the man was a resident of unincorporated Antioch but did not publicly identify him. The man was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville after the crash where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and the Antioch Police Department are still investigating the crash.
