A man is facing charges in connection with a burglary at a restaurant in Woodstock that happened in late June.
On June 30, the Woodstock Police Department responded to Mia Passione Restaurant at 228 Main Street in Woodstock for a report of a burglary that happened overnight while the business was closed.
Police said that on August 17 information was developed by the Woodstock Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division which led to Francisco Olvera-Saavedra, of 235 1/2 North Benton Street in Woodstock, as the lone suspect in the burglary.
A warrant was obtained for Olvera-Saavedra for 1 count of burglary (Class 2 felony) and 1 count of theft under $500 (Class A misdemeanor), authorities said. On Tuesday, Olvera-Saavedra was located and taken into custody without incident by Woodstock police officers.
Officials said that Olvera-Saavedra was transported to the McHenry County Jail where he remains in custody on a $50,000 bond. He’s next due in court on Friday.
