Three people are in custody following an armed robbery and a police chase that started in Lake Bluff and ended in Highland Park on Friday.
At around 4:13 p.m., three Chicago men robbed a Verizon Wireless store at gunpoint at 232 South Waukegan Road in Lake Bluff, police said. Two of the three suspects were armed with guns.
According to police, employees were tied up during the robbery and placed in the back of the store. None of the employees were injured.
The descriptions of the three suspect involved in the armed robbery were sent out to area police departments. Police ended up spotting the suspect vehicle, which was stolen, and a police chase began.
The police pursuit went on for over eight miles down Route 41 where the car crashed near the Jewel-Osco on Deerfield Road.
Police said that they found more than 20 cell phones or other pieces of equipment along with a firearm in the vehicle.
