The three suspects in custody for the armed robbery in Buffalo Grove, and subsequent police manhunt search in Lincolnshire on Wednesday, are facing several charges, police said.
Authorities said that twin brothers Jamaal S. Anderson and Jaquan S. Anderson, both 21, of the 800 block of 14th Street in North Chicago along with Jhashi Adorno, 19, of the 200 block of Green Bay Road in Waukegan, each have been charged with two counts of armed robbery, aggravated robbery, armed violence, burglary, aggravated unlawful restraint, and theft.
The Anderson brothers and Jhashi reportedly entered Locksmith Resource, located in the 1500 block of North Barclay Road in Buffalo Grove, at around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of the suspects were reportedly armed and restrained an employee before stealing multiple items from the business, police said. The three suspects then fled the scene in a U-Haul truck.
According to the Buffalo Grove Police Department, responding officers located the U-Haul and followed it until it crashed at Milwaukee Avenue and Old Half Day Road in Lincolnshire.
The three male black suspects, who were wearing ski masks and were armed, ran from the truck and a police manhunt search began.
Numerous police departments, canine units, SWAT, and police helicopters were called to the scene to help with the search. The Village of Lincolnshire issued a public safety alert in a Facebook Post at around 9:00 p.m. urging residents and people in the area to stay inside and lock their doors.
By 9:15 p.m. the search was over and the three suspects, who were found scattered throughout the area, were taken into custody.
The intersection at Milwaukee Avenue and Olde Half Day Road in Lincolnshire was still closed after the suspects were caught for an “auto accident investigation”, according to the Village of Lincolnshire Facebook page.
Police recovered two handguns from the scene of the crash, one of which was a BB gun. The Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) is handling the crash investigation.
The three suspects were scheduled to appear in Lake County bond court Friday morning.
