A 53-year-old Crystal Lake man is facing numerous felony child pornography charges after he was arrested during a search warrant on Thursday.
At 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, the Crystal Lake Police Department and the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Unit executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of Yellowstone Circle in Crystal Lake. The search warrant was the result of an investigation for unlawful possession of child pornography, police said.
Authorities said that the Crystal Lake Police Department was made aware of the matter initially by the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Unit.
The Crystal Lake Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit conducted the investigation, which led to the arrest warrant being issued for John J. Dzierzynski, 53, of 1650 Yellowstone Circle in Crystal Lake. The arrest warrant was for 3 counts of child pornography (Class 2 felony) and 1 count of child pornography (Class 3 felony).
Crystal Lake detectives took Dzierzynski into custody during the search warrant. Detectives charged Dzierzynski with an additional count of child pornography (Class 2 felony) after his arrest and search of his home, authorities said.
Dzierzynski was transported to the McHenry County Jail where he currently remains in custody on a $50,000 bond. His next court date is September 27 at the McHenry County Courthouse.
