The two men who were killed after a single-vehicle crash in unincorporated McHenry on Saturday have been publicly identified.

McHenry Fire and Rescue and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at 11:48 p.m. on Saturday for a reported single-vehicle crash at 1402 South Lily Lake Road in unincorporated McHenry.

McHenry County Coroner Dr. Anne Majewski said that two men were found dead in the crash. The driver, Allan Javier Sanchez Gamez, 31, of Crystal Lake, was trapped in the vehicle and needed to be extrication. The passenger, Timoteo Guzman Mejia, 33, of Crystal Lake, was ejected from the vehicle.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene at 12:05 a.m. on Sunday. Authorities said that a third male was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

An autopsy by McHenry County Coroner Dr. Anne Majewski today revealed that the driver died from blunt trauma to the head and chest. The passenger died from blunt trauma to the head, chest and abdomen. Toxicology testing is pending.

The crash is under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
