UPDATE @10:45 a.m.: The boy has been found safe.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 16-year old boy from Volo.
Chase Johnson, 16, of the 300 block of Shelbourne Road in Volo, was reported missing by his family on Friday. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said that Chase’s family reported he left his home at around 5:30 p.m..
Chase was last seen wearing a dark blue Notre Dame t-shirt and khaki shorts. He’s approximately 6 foot tall, 135 pounds, and has brown hair/brown eyes. He also wears glasses. Chase did not have his cell phone with him when he left.
According to Chase’s mom on Facebook, “Police began searching last night with no luck. We have called all his friends, gone to their homes, checked his phone and snapchat for leads. Zero luck. Chase has no phone or money on him and is 16 years old.”
“He suffers from some emotional issues and asthma… He was last seen walking down Callahan Road towards Wauconda from Volo at around 5pm yesterday,” she continued.
Chase’s mom also said in the Facebook post that he loves to walk the trails and paths in between Volo and Wauconda.
