A burglary suspect was found sleeping in a car in Antioch early Tuesday morning, sheriff’s officials said.
At around 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 42600 block of North Lake Drive in Antioch Township for a burglary to a vehicle. While investigating the incident, sheriff’s deputies located Sean Campbell, 32, of the 42200 block of North 7th Avenue in Antioch Township, sleeping in a nearby car.
Authorities said that sheriff’s deputies determined Campbell was responsible for the burglary to a vehicle and found him in possession of items from the burglary. Campbell was arrested and transported to the Lake County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division, officials said.
Sheriff’s deputies and sheriff’s detectives determined Campbell was responsible for several other recent burglaries in the area, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Campbell was then charged with five counts of burglary (class 2 felonies) and one count of theft (class A misdemeanor).
Campbell remains held at the Lake County Jail on a $30,000 bond. His next court date is October 23 at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom C-120.
