Gurnee police have released a sketch of the man accused in a sexual assault that occurred over the weekend on a wooded walking path.

Gurnee police said that between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Saturday night, the victim was on a wooded walking path south of Washington Street and Route 21 in Gurnee when the assault happened.

Authorities said that the offender is described as a male having a “tan” complexion, medium build, about 5 feet 10 inches in height, and 180lbs. He has dark short hair, that was shaved on the sides and facial hair in the form of a goatee. He’s described as smelling of smoke and was “sweaty” at the time of the offense.

Police said that the suspect was last seen wearing a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt made of light weight material. The sweatshirt is believed to have had a white Under Armour logo on the left breast. He was wearing dark-colored, possibly sweat pants.
