Authorities are investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl in Woodstock that happened on Monday.
Woodstock police officers and firefighters/paramedics responded on Monday to a rescue call in the 500 block of Central Parkway in Woodstock, Woodstock Police Chief John L. Lieb said in a statement.
The 3-year-old girl was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where she died at 5:20 p.m. on Monday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
A preliminary autopsy conducted on Tuesday did not determine a cause and manner of death. Results are pending further investigation.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is investigating the girl’s death, an agency spokesman said.
No further information was released due to the ongoing investigation.
