A Crystal Lake man is facing numerous felony charges after he allegedly solicited two children on social media for sex and nude photos, according to police.
On October 4, Domenique D. Hines, 20, of 955 Golf Course Road #4 in Crystal Lake, was arrested on a warrant, police said.
The Crystal Lake Police Department said in a statement that Hines allegedly solicited a 14-year-old child from Illinois to engage in what police described as “sexual conduct”.
Police became aware of the incident after receiving a complaint that Hines had solicited the child on social media. The Crystal Lake Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit began an investigation which led investigators to find that there was also a second victim.
Hines reportedly met the second victim, a 15-year-old child from Maryland, through Facebook and other social media websites in June and had been communicating with the child since then.
“Dialogue developed to that of a sexual nature, which resulted in Hines gaining the trust of the child and obtaining several sexually suggestive nude images of the child over a period of time,” Crystal Lake police said in a statement.
Hines was initially charged with indecent solicitation of a child (class 3 felony) for the incident with the first victim. He was then charged with ten counts of child pornography as a class 1 felony, ten counts of child pornography as a class 3 felony, indecent solicitation of a child (class 3 felony), and grooming (class 4 felony) for the incident with the second victim.
Hines remains held on a $100,000 bond at the McHenry County Jail. His next court date is October 24 at the McHenry County Courthouse.
