A traffic stop Wednesday led to the arrest and felony charges against a Crystal Lake man after deputies found a gun and drugs in his car.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said that a sheriff’s deputy saw a Hyundai Sonata speeding near the area of Route 31 and Route 176 in Crystal Lake. The sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on the car.
During the traffic stop, deputies recovered a loaded Glock 19 pistol and small amounts of cocaine, cannabis and drug paraphernalia, authorities said. The driver, Vincent A. Flaco, 27, of Crystal Lake, was arrested and charged with armed violence (class X felony), aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (class 4 felony), unlawful possession of a controlled substance (class 4 felony), and speeding (class A misdemeanor).
Flaco is being held without bond at the McHenry County Jail. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
