A police manhunt is continuing Friday for a 26-year-old Hebron man who fled on foot from the scene after allegedly raping a child, sheriff’s officials said.
At around 6:45 a.m. Friday, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a disturbance in the 12000 block of Hebron Road in unincorporated Hebron.
When the responding deputies arrived, they were told that a man named Esau Ancheyta Hernandez had allegedly raped a child inside the house. Authorities said that after Hernandez was confronted by family members, he fled on foot from the scene.
Officials said that a large multi-jurisdictional search, deploying multiple K-9’s, drones, and a helicopter, was conducted in the area of Hebron Road and the Illinois/Wisconsin State Line, but Hernandez was not located.
He was last seen wearing gray pants, a teal shirt, and tennis shoes. He is 26-years-old and is 5’6″, weighs approximately 135 lbs, and has dark brown hair and brown eyes.
Authorities have obtained an arrest warrant forย one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child (class X felony).
