Surveillance video at the restaurant showed the SUV driving in reverse and sharply turning and then slamming into the building without slowing down. Officials did not comment on what caused this to occur.

The Beach Park, Gurnee, Lake Villa, and North Chicago fire departments assisted the Waukegan Fire Department at the scene.

The restaurant will be closed for at least a week while repairs are done to the building.
