The 57-year-old man who died after he crashed his pickup truck into a tree near Huntley Tuesday evening has been identified.
The Huntley Fire Protection District and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office were called for a report of a single-vehicle crash at 14206 Harmony Road in unincorporated Huntley just after 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation showed that a 2016 Ford F-350 was traveling westbound on Harmony Road. For unknown reasons, the Ford drove off the north side of the roadway and struck a tree, authorities said. The crash happened just west of Huntley High School.
The driver, identified as David J. Considine, 57, of Amboy, Illinois, was transported to Centegra Hospital in Huntley, where he was pronounced dead. Officials said he was wearing his seatbelt and the airbag systems in his vehicle had deployed. No one else was in the car besides for Considine.
An autopsy performed Thursday morning by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office revealed Considine died from blunt force injuries to the chest.
The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
