A 32-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly stabbing her husband after a fight in Wonder Lake Sunday night, sheriff’s officials said.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was called at 9:15 p.m. Sunday to the 7400 block of Maple Drive in Wonder Lake for a report of a stabbing.
Authorities said that when sheriff’s deputies arrived they found a 36-year-old man who had been stabbed by his wife after an argument. Heather Bradigan, 32, of Wonder Lake, had fled on foot from the scene before police arrived.
Numerous McHenry County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Wonder Lake police officers began a search in the area. Bradigan was captured at 9:55 p.m. Sunday night by McHenry County Sheriff’s Office deputies in the 7400 block of Hancock Drive in Wonder Lake, which is around a half a mile south of where the stabbing occurred.
Bradigan is charged with aggravated battery (class 2 felony), aggravated battery to a peace officer (class 2 felony), and resisting arrest (class A misdemeanor). Her bond was set at $75,000. Bradigan is scheduled to appear in court next on November 1.
Police officials said that the man was transported to Centegra Hospital in McHenry with minor injuries by a Wonder Lake Fire Protection District ambulance. He is in stable condition.
