A woman has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a man in Wonder Lake Sunday night, sheriff’s officials said.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was called at 9:15 p.m. Sunday to the 7400 block of Maple Drive in Wonder Lake for a report of a stabbing.

Authorities said that when sheriff’s deputies arrived they found a 36-year-old man who had been stabbed by a family member. The suspect, a 33-year-old woman, who is a family member of the victim, had fled on foot from the scene before police arrived.

Numerous McHenry County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Wonder Lake police officers began a search in the area. The suspect was captured at 9:55 p.m. Sunday night byย McHenry County Sheriff’s Office deputies in the 7400 block of Hancock Drive in Wonder Lake, which is around a half a mile south of where the stabbing occurred.

Police officials said that the man was transported to an area hospital in stable condition by a Wonder Lake Fire Protection District ambulance.
