A missing suicidal man was found by a Lake County Sheriff’s Office canine in Ingleside early Monday morning, authorities said.
The Fox Lake Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched on Monday to the 26800 block of West Longwood Drive in Ingleside at 2:40 a.m. for a report of a missing 42-year-old suicidal man.
Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy John Forlenza and his K-9 partner, Dax, were then requested to the scene to assist in the search. Sheriff’s officials said that the man was in mental crisis and made threats to harm himself. Authorities also said that he ran from Fox Lake police officers.
Deputy Forlenza and K-9 Dax tracked the scent of the missing man and soon located him sleeping in a wooded area about 50-yards from where he initially fled. The man was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation, officials said.
