A 63-year-old Richmond woman is facing charges after police seized 84 bags of heroin, 10 pills, and cash on Wednesday during a warrant.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Narcotics Task Force received numerous complaints of suspicious activity at a house in the 8300 block of North Solon Rd in Richmond.

Authorities said that after a month-long investigation, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant at the house on Monday. Brenda Haseman, 63, was taken into custody and police seized 84 individual bags of heroin ready for street use, 10 Alprazolam pills, packaging materials, and $1,629 in cash. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $1,780, officials said.

“Anytime we can take heroin off the street, we are happy to do so,” McHenry County Sheriff Bill Prim said. “Unfortunately, opioid-related deaths have become an epidemic in our community.”
