The Lake County Sheriff’s Office announced that two men with warrants were captured by the Lake County Sheriffโs Office and U.S. Marshals Service.
The Lake County Sheriffโs Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals apprehended Juan A. Padilla, 24, of the 2000 block of Dugdale Road in North Chicago, on November 1. Padilla had an active felony arrest warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon (class 3 felony), aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (class 4 felony), unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver (class 3 felony), and unlawful possession of cannabis (class 4 felony).
Authorities learned Padilla was inside a room at a motel in the area of Green Bay Road and Washington Street in Waukegan. Padilla refused to exit the room and police made entry. They found Padilla inside the room with cannabis and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested without incident and charged with additional counts of possession of cannabis (misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor).
Padilla remains held at the Lake County Jail on a $150,000 bond. He is next due in court on November 7.
On October 27, a sheriffโs deputy assigned to a traffic safety detail at Route 45 and Washington Street in Third Lake made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation and seatbelt violation. The sheriffโs deputy found out the passenger, Edgar J. Chaveste, 27, of Anaheim, California, was wanted by the California Department of Corrections on a no-bond parole violation warrant.
Chaveste was arrested and transported to the Lake County Jail where he was being held without bail pending an extradition hearing.
