A Cary man has been arrested and charged after police said he was found in possession of 21 pounds of marijuana, a pistol, two shotguns, and other drugs.

Mark J. Priester, 39, of the 0-100 block of West Franke Avenue in Cary, has been arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, manufacturing and delivering marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm without a FOID card, and possession of ammunition without a FOID card.

Authorities issued a warrant for Priester’s arrest in May which was served unsuccessfully on June 9. Police arrested Priester this past Friday.

Court records showed that on March 31 Priester had more than 21 pounds of marijuana, more than 1 ounce of psychedelic mushrooms, less than 1 ounce of cocaine, and other drug paraphernalia in his possession.

Court records also showed that Priester was in possession of a 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol, a 16 gauge shotgun, a 20 gauge shotgun, and ammunition without having a valid FOID card.

His bond was set at $200,000.
