The Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and U.S Marshals have arrested a 20-year-old and a 17-year-old wanted in connection with a robbery that happened in Beach Park in June.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said that on June 12 they responded to a robbery at a home in the 12000 block of West Wadsworth Road in Beach Park.
Authorities said that a 20-year-old victim, who lives at the above address, was robbed of electronics and other valuables by an adult and a juvenile. One of the suspects was armed with what appeared to be a gun, but was later determined to be a BB gun, sheriff’s official said.
Lake County Sheriff’s detectives investigated and identified one of the suspects as Steven Bunch, Jr., 20, of the 3000 block of Gabriel Avenue in Zion. The other offender was identified as a 17-year-old juvenile from Waukegan.
Sheriff’s detectives obtained an arrest warrant on Monday for Bunch for aggravated robbery, a class 1 felony, and theft, a class 3 felony.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals Service executed the warrant the next day on Tuesday. Bunch was taken into custody without incident after he surrendered to police and exited his home.
Bunch was transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on a $75,000 bond. He is next due in court on December 5 at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom C-120.
Sheriff’s officials said that the juvenile suspect was referred to juvenile court on October 13 for his involvement in the incident.
