Authorities are investigating the death of a Cary man who was found unresponsive in his jail cell at the McHenry County Jail.
McHenry County Coroner Dr. Anne Majewski said that Thomas M. Doheny, 51, of Cary, was found unresponsive in a single occupant jail cell at the McHenry County Jail Friday evening while guards were conducting rounds.
Doheny was transported by ambulance to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock where he was pronounced dead at 8:53 p.m.
The McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Sunday by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
According to the Northwest Herald, Doheny had been incarcerated at the McHenry County Jail since November 1 for contempt of court.
